Protective Stabilization – Uses, Liabilities and Options
You need to do WHAT to MY child? Gain an understanding of behavior management so that you can interpret and cope with a child’s temperament. Discuss communication techniques to use with the family regarding their child’s behavior and the need for immobilization. Learn to safely, calmly, efficiently and effectively immobilize a child in a caring manner.
While using this procedure to protect your patients, you also need to know how to protect your practice. Get a perspective from a nationally known mass tort plaintiff lawyer with a history of involvement in medical and dental cases. Explore a new and different point-of-view to dentists who are often encouraged to use restraint devices to facilitate rapid dental work.
After attending this course, you will be state board certified to administer immobilization in your office.
Please Note: This course is required for dental professionals who utilize these techniques. If you received training beyond basic dental education through a residency program or graduate program that contains content and experiences in advanced behavior management, you do not need to attend this course. Please click here to read State Board Rule XV. (The Rule begins on page 50.)
This 6-CE credit course fulfills the training requirements of the Colorado State Board of Dental Examiners according to Rule XV: Pediatric Case Management, Protective Stabilization.

For your convenience, we have free parking in two retail garages within the Beauvallon building (east-facing side). Both garages are accessed from Lincoln Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. Parking in these garages is available on a first-come, first-served basis. ** If you are attending a large course/event at the MWDI, we recommend arriving early in case the garages fill and alternative parking must be secured. Be aware - The garages come up quickly after you cross 9th Avenue and both have left lane entrances. All numbered spaces within both retail parking garages (without "Reserved" signs) are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Do not park in any spaces marked "Matrix" or “KCNC.” Do not park in the residential parking. Residential garages are at the back of the retail garages. The north and south garages are not connected. Both have open parking available. See attachment for more information.
