The number of candidates running for the 2022/2023 Board of Directors is equal to the open positions, the election is considered closed and the following candidates are elected to the 2022/2023 Board of Directors by acclamation:

Bryan Savage

Bryan Savage, DDS

Dr. Bryan Savage earned his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University in 1997 and his DDS from the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver in 2003. He completed his pediatric dental residency at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas in 2007, caring for patients at both Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. He is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a proud member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, the Metro Denver Dental Society, and their local affiliates. He is the owner of West Metro Pediatric Dentistry in Arvada and Centennial. Additionally, he is a part-time faculty at the Denver Health Pediatric Dental Residency and holds privileges at Children’s Hospital of Colorado.

Brian Furgason

Brian Furgason, DDS

Dr. Brian Furgason graduated from the University of Nebraska Dental School and has been in private practice in Lakewood, CO since 1993. He has been involved in numerous educational organizations, study clubs and charitable groups throughout his career, including KIND, NFDH, Smile Again (Volunteer of the Year award), Dental Lifeline, Colorado Prosthodontic Society and several others. With the outstanding guidance, information and services provided by the MDDS during the pandemic, Dr. Furgason realized how important this group is to the profession. He would like to continue this work and help to improve the dental profession.

Nicole Furuta

Nicole Furuta, DDS

Dr. Nicole Furuta owns a private general practice in Downtown Denver. She is a doctoral graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and completed a one-year general practice residency at the veteran’s hospital in La Jolla, CA.

Nicole has leadership experience on the Metro Denver Dental Foundation (MDDF) as a board member and vice president. She is looking forward to continuing her work on the MDDS Board of Directors in a third term.

Artemis Khazaie

Artemis Khazaie, DDS

Dr. Artemis Khazaie completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Colorado and pursued her General Practice Residency at Denver Health. While not a Colorado native, after multiple moves, nationally and internationally, she has found her home in this beautiful state. Dr. Khazaie believes in constantly improving her practice and clinical skills to provide the best and most up-to-date care for her patients. She feels strongly about community and believes dentists need to support one another to strengthen our voice as medical professionals. Dr. Khazaie currently serves as Associate Chair of the MDDS Member Services Committee. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Khazaie loves the outdoors, traveling and baking for friends and family.

2022 – 2023 MDDS Bylaws Changes

Changes to the MDDS bylaws are proposed for a member vote. Current and revised versions are posted at mddsdentist.com in the About section.

These changes are to align with the new ADA definition of life member and to allow the MDDS Executive Director to represent the Society on the Beauvallon HOA board.

Subsequently, the Bylaws Committee and the MDDS Board of Directors have approved the proposed changes. The Bylaws Committee reviewed the updated and approved MDDS Policies and Procedures Manual forwarded by the Board of Directors. The changes can be reviewed online at mddsdentist.com in the About section.

The Metro Denver Dental Society is a not-for-profit component society of the American Dental Association and the Colorado Dental Association.

The MDDS is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education.
