DESCRIPTION:HANDS-ON Twenty-first Century Laser-Assisted Dentistry\nPresented by Dr. Anthony Cardoza \n \nTake your practice to a higher level by integrating laser technology. Dr. Anthony Cardoza\, a certified laser dentist\, provides in-depth instruction for both dentists and hygienists on laser applications\, safety and physics. He covers general applications including cavity preparations\, various soft tissue procedures (gingivectomy\, frenectomy\, troughing for margin exposure\, implant uncovering)\, endodontic laser activated irrigation\, and bony procedures such as crown lengthening and tori reduction. In addition\, he discusses laser dental hygiene applications such as laser bacterial reduction (LBR)\, and de-epithelization. \nDuring the hands-on segment you will practice with different laser systems using pig jaws and teeth for both soft tissue and hard tissue applications including cavity preparation\, soft tissue ablation\, bone ablation and all hygiene procedures. \nObjectives\n1. Understand basic laser safety and physics\n2. Learn several clinical applications of dental hard tissue and soft tissue lasers\n3. Use the laser in a simulated dental hard and soft tissue environment \nPlease Note: This course satisfies the Dental Board’s training requirement for laser use. \nThe hands-on training will be conducted using lasers provided by BIOLASE\, Fotona and Ultradent Products\, Inc. \nDr. Anthony Cardoza is a 1985 graduate of Northwestern University Dental School and maintains a general dental practice in Santee\, CA. He is a Fellow in the World Clinical Laser Institute and a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry. Dr. Cardoza lectures throughout the United States and Canada on the topics of forensic dentistry and lasers in dentistry. Be aware – the garages come up quickly after you cross 9th Avenue and both have left lane entrances. All numbered spaces within both retail parking garages (without “Reserved” signs) are available on a first-come\, first-served basis. Do not park in any spaces with a red sign that says “Matrix” or “KCNC.” Do not park in the residential parking. Residential garages are at the back of the retail garages. The north and south garages are not connected. Both have open parking available.
