SUMMARY:Energy Leadership Coaching Group
DESCRIPTION:Dentistry is demanding. Between patient care\, business pressures\, and everything happening outside the office\, it’s easy to feel like you’re constantly reacting to stress instead of leading your life and work the way you want. What if you could understand why certain situations trigger you the way they do—and learn how to respond differently in the moment? \nThat’s the focus of the Energy Leadership Group\, a four-month program\, facilitated by Dr. Laura Brenner\, designed to help dentists better understand how their mindset and stress responses shape their daily experience. \nWhat to Expect \nEnergy Leadership Index (ELI) Assessment\nComplete the ELI to get a personalized look at how your mindset and stress responses shape your daily experience – then learn to shift them for better outcomes. \nMonth 1: Energy Leadership Index (ELI) Assessment Debrief\nUnderstand your ELI results and gain a clear picture of your leadership baseline. \nMonth 2- 4: Practice + Real-Life Application\nBring real-life situations to the table. We’ll identify stress triggers\, challenge limiting beliefs\, and workshop new\, intentional ways to lead with clarity. \nDr. Laura Brenner worked in private practice in Denver for 10 years before leaving clinical dentistry behind for good. As the author of the Lolabees blog and 10 Reasons Your Dentist Probably Hates You Too\, she began connecting with other dentists from around the world who wanted more from their careers. This work inspired her to become a Certified Professional Coach who is passionate about helping dentists find joy in their careers again. \nDates:\nWednesday\, August 19\, 2026\nWednesday\, September 23\, 2026\nWednesday\, October 21\, 2026\nWednesday\, November 18\, 2026 \nTime:\n6:00pm – Dinner\n6:30pm – 8:30 – Discussions \nRate:\n$30 – MDDS Member Dentist\n$60 – Non-Member Dentist \nLocation:\nMountain West Dental Institute\n925 Lincoln St\, Unit B\nDenver\, CO 80203

DESCRIPTION:The Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM) is a large-scale dental clinic that is held annually in a Colorado community. \nThe concept is simple: Create a two-day dental clinic in a large facility and open the clinic doors to the community. Dental services are provided to any person on a “no questions asked” basis. Patients are evaluated and treated based on their most urgent dental needs. Patients undergo dental treatments such as cleanings\, fillings\, root canals\, and extractions. The best part about COMOM is that this quality treatment is provided at no cost to patients. \nDate: Septetmber 25 – 26\, 2-26 \nLocation: Cripple Creek\, CO

DESCRIPTION:Presented by Ms. Lora Hooper\, BSDH\, RDH\, EFDA \nStop treating symptoms. Start treating the source with the right product\, at the right time\, for the right patient.  \nMost clinicians can read a saliva report\, but far fewer know how to integrate that data with metabolic glucose insight to guide treatment decisions.  \nThis immersive\, participatory course bridges the gap between information and implementation. You will experience how saliva diagnostics and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) work together to uncover inflammatory drivers\, reduce relapse and protect long-term outcomes. You also will learn when to deploy antimicrobials versus probiotics\, how to match technologies and products to specific risk profiles\, and when to retest for measurable success. \nParticipants will receive a saliva test\, a glucose monitor\, and hands-on exposure to a variety of treatment protocols. \nRegister early so your saliva test can be completed and analyzed before the course\, allowing you to fully engage with the data and get the most out of the hands-on experience. \nCourse materials and equipment provided by BIOLASE\, Dexcom\, ImpetusDX\, ProBiora Health\, StellaLife\, and SuperMouth \nObjectives: \n\nIntegrate saliva diagnostics and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data to identify inflammatory drivers and guide periodontal and implant treatment decisions.\nUtilize advanced clinical technologies and adjunctive therapies to reduce relapse and improve measurable long-term outcomes.\n\nThis isn’t a lecture.
SUMMARY:WEBINAR: Trafficking Happens Here: Human Trafficking Training for the Dental Professional
DESCRIPTION:WEBINAR: Trafficking Happens Here: Human Trafficking Training for the Dental Professional\nPresented by Ms. Kandice Swarthout\, RDH\, LPC \nHuman trafficking is a rapidly growing public health crisis in the United States and the fastest-growing commerce in the world\, with over 200\,000 minors at risk. Many victims are deceived and coerced into labor or sexual exploitation\, and approximately 80% interact with healthcare providers while in captivity. However\, many do not self-identify due to fear of retribution from their captors. \nDental professionals are uniquely positioned to recognize the signs and help intervene. This course equips clinicians to identify and report suspected trafficking\, understand key distinctions (including sex trafficking vs. sex work)\, recognize at-risk populations and apply trauma-informed care to support victims and connect them with resources. \nWhat will I learn in this webinar:\n \n\nDefine human trafficking\, including key types\, recruitment methods and populations at risk.\nDistinguish between sex trafficking and sex work\, and between trafficking and smuggling\, using legal and contextual criteria.\nIdentify clinical indicators and apply effective screening approaches to recognize potential trafficking situations and determine reporting thresholds.\nImplement appropriate reporting procedures in alignment with legal requirements and institutional protocols.\nApply trauma-informed care principles to support safe\, respectful interactions with affected individuals.\nLocate and prioritize local and national resources to facilitate appropriate referrals and support services.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKandice Swarthout\, RDH\, LPC\, brings nearly 30 years of dental experience and over a decade in mental health. Trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)\, she teaches community and research courses in Texas\, preparing future dental professionals. She is passionate about human trafficking awareness and is the founder of Reclaim Smiles\, a free dental day for survivors of human trafficking in safe houses.
