But what’s worse is when you don’t have a really good answer! And here’s the thing: a “good answer” doesn’t just satisfy the patient. It doesn’t just get you out of a sticky situation… A good answer to a difficult patient question actually drives that patient toward treatment! A practice that is truly “calibrated” will generate more referrals\, have higher treatment acceptance\, a happier team\, and MORE REVENUE! \nSome of the difficult patient questions Dr. Madow will cover include:\n– Why didn’t my last dentist tell me I needed this?\n– How long will this crown last?\n– Why won’t insurance cover this?\n– Can’t I just get a regular cleaning? (patient has perio disease)\n– Why didn’t this hurt before YOU did the filling?\n– And many more! \nOne of the simplest yet most effective “tweaks” you can make in your practice is learning how to answer the most difficult and frustrating questions patients ask. SUMMARY:MDDS Presents: HANDS-ON Creating Predictable Restorations: Crown Lengthening
DESCRIPTION:HANDS-ON Creating Predictable Restorations: Crown Lengthening\nPresented by Dr. James Kohner \n \nFaced with a cusp fractured below the gingiva? Prepping too far under the gingiva and not getting predictable impressions? Planning esthetic restorations in the anterior and facing uneven tissue or a “Gummy Smile”? \nCrown extension is one of the most commonly required procedures in restorative dentistry\, yet it is often underutilized. Enjoy an in-depth look at the evidence-based concepts and practical applications for clinical crown lengthening and learn how to enhance predictability for your restorations and impressions. Gain the peace of mind that you are current in your treatment planning choices. \nTechniques discussed include how to handle hard and soft tissues; proper surgical techniques; preservation of esthetics in the final tissue contours; and relocation of all structures that comprise the biologic width\, namely: sulcus\, junctional epithelium\, connective tissue fibers and bone. The seven-hour\, hands-on workshop offers the opportunity to practice these procedures on pig jaws and anatomically correct models.  The workshop is suitable for clinicians with any level of surgical experience who want to do some or most of their own crown extensions or want to know more about the subject. \nObjectives \n\nPractice how to make predictable impressions every time\nDiscover why some crowns come loose and how to prevent it\nLearn chair time-saving methods and profit-generating strategies\nIdentify the causes of red gum tissue around margins\nMaster diagnosing esthetic crown lengthening\nUnderstand the Gummy Smile\nBecome familiar with coordinating surgery with restorative procedures\n\nDr. James Kohner is a periodontist who focuses on the management of periodontal infection using non-surgical methods\, as well as being current on the latest procedures relating to surgical therapy. He has over 35 years in private practice and more than 20 years of teaching experience. \nContinental breakfast and lunch will be provided. \nDate: Friday\, March 5\, 2021 \nTime: 8:00am – 4:00pm \nRate:\n$499 MDDS Member\n$599 Non-MDDS Member \nCE Credits: 7 \nFormat: Hands-on \nRegistration Deadline: February 22\, 2021 \nCancellation Deadline: February 26\, 2021 \n2 Easy Ways to Register\nOnline – available 24 hours/day\nClick here for online registration \nPhone In\nAvailable Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm at (303) 488-9700 \nCancellation Policy\nCancellations will be accepted and are entitled to a refund provided they are received at MDDS by the cancellation deadline. Both garages are accessed from Lincoln Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. Parking in these garages is available on a first-come\, first served basis. ** If you are attending a large course/event at the MWDI\, we recommend arriving early in case the garages fill and alternative parking must be secured. Be aware – The garages come up quickly after you cross 9th Avenue and both have left lane entrances. All numbered spaces within both retail parking garages (without “Reserved” signs) are available on a first-come\, first served basis. Do not park in any spaces marked “Matrix” or “KCNC.” Do not park in the residential parking. Residential garages are at the back of the retail garages. The north and south garages are not connected. Both have open parking available. See link for more information.
