2025 RMDC Chair

Greetings, colleagues! I am your 2025 Rocky Mountain Dental Convention (RMDC) Chair, and I’m excited to invite you  and your team to attend the 117th RMDC. (It has only taken me about 20 years to stop calling it the “Midwinter” meeting!) Each year, our team of dedicated volunteers strives to evolve the convention and ensure it remains relevant and innovative. Truthfully, it is a feat that is easier said than done. We spend hours developing unique ways to make this event worthy of our profession and the investment of your time and money. The MDDS professional team and dentist volunteers attend meetings across the country to see what brings the wow factor and what is not working. We have the exciting opportunity (and challenge) to make the RMDC fun, educational and useful to dental professionals.

“So, what is new?” Well, I am glad you asked! In 2025, you will find a variety of learning formats including standard lectures, in-depth hands-on workshops, Fast Tracks, Industry Ally sessions, new product demos, as well as Professional Industry Panels. These new panels will feature industry thought leaders speaking on various topics your dental colleagues have voiced as significant to the profession. You also asked for more cutting-edge hands-on courses and we delivered! Don’t sweat it if there are multiple courses you want to attend at the same time; we will again be recording several courses and making them available for on-demand viewing following the convention. Personally, I am excited to hear from Dr. Amy Doneen. If you are not familiar with her book “Beat the Heart Attack Gene” or haven’t heard of the BaleDoneen Method (read a sneak peek on page 20), I implore you to attend her course and prepare to hear a very eye-opening approach to eliminating strokes and heart attacks, among other things. I guarantee it will make you look at oral care and systemic health differently.

The education program also features content to help your practice thrive. Dr. Mark Kleive’s “Essential Business Systems for Every Dental Practice,” Dr. Chris Salierno’s “Fighting the Profit Margin Squeeze: How Cash Moves through a Dental Practice,” and Mr. Larry Guzzardo’s “Hire a Team That Stays: Start on the Right Foot” are just a sample. Ms. Minal Sampat, an engaging and highly regarded speaker in the dental marketing realm, unpacks marketing strategy, as well as social media and video marketing. There are so many great courses in 2025 that every member of your team will find relevant information, useful tips and beneficial ideas.

Last year a revamped Expo Hall drew praise from attendees and exhibitors alike and this year should be even better. There will be exciting competitions for both chairside assistants and hygienists to showcase their scanning and radiograph interpretation skills for a chance to win cash prizes. You can stop by the Posture Pavilion for a no-cost ergonomic check or the Health Screening Pavilion for complimentary oral cancer, airway and myofunctional screenings. Get a new professional headshot in the Headshot Lounge, play with furry friends during Puppy Playtime in the Tripartite Wellness Oasis, grab complimentary beer or wine in the Central Beer Garden during happy hour and so much more. Most importantly, come to the Expo Hall to socialize and network with your colleagues and vendor partners while learning about the latest in dental products, services and technology.
