DESCRIPTION:Prevention First: The New Standard of Dental Care\nPresented by Michelle Strange\, MSDH\, RDH\nThis course is held in partnership with Dental Advisor. \nThis course redefines modern dentistry by shifting the focus from drilling and calculus removal to prevention\, behavior change and minimally invasive care. Participants will learn how to manage disease earlier\, preserve tooth structure longer\, and build patient-centered treatment plans that prioritize biofilm control\, remineralization and sustainable home care. \nIt is time to be a true preventionist. In addition to supporting disease prevention at the patient level\, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how proper infection control measures prevent disease transmission within the dental setting. The course will also address common legacy errors in clinical workflows that contribute to cross-contamination\, empowering participants to recognize and reduce preventable risks to patient and team safety. \nLearning Objectives \n\nApply the principles of minimally invasive dentistry to prevent and manage dental disease before surgical intervention is needed.\nIntegrate biofilm management\, remineralization strategies\, and at-home prevention products into personalized patient care plans.\nUse motivational interviewing techniques to improve patient engagement\, compliance\, and long-term oral health outcomes.\nIdentify how effective infection control supports disease prevention\, reduces the risk of cross-contamination\, and enhances overall patient safety.\n\nMichelle Strange\, MSDH\, RDH\, is a practicing dental hygienist\, educator and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in dentistry. She is the founder of MichelleStrangeRDH and Level Up Infection Prevention\, educational platforms dedicated to helping dental professionals improve clinical care and compliance\, and the owner of SmileLogic\, a Colorado-based dental hygiene practice. Michelle combines clinical expertise\, education and innovation to advance the profession and empower dental teams.
