WEBINAR: Managing Dental Trauma in the Pediatric Patient

WEBINAR: Managing Dental Trauma in the Pediatric Patient
Presented by Joe Barsetti, DDS
This course provides a practical, clinically focused overview of dental trauma in pediatric patients. Participants will learn how to accurately assess injuries to teeth and surrounding soft tissues, integrate trauma guidelines into real-world decision-making, and adapt management based on individual patient factors. This session will cover effective communication with parents, identifying cases that warrant referral, and coordinating multidisciplinary care. A series of clinical cases will be reviewed to walk through the full process from initial presentation and assessment to treatment planning, follow-up, and prevention, while discussing challenges that may arise and applying evidence-based strategies to address them.
Objectives:
- Perform a systematic assessment of traumatic injuries to the teeth and associated soft tissues in pediatric patients
- Distinguish appropriate management strategies for dental trauma in mature versus immature teeth, including short-term and long-term considerations
- Determine when multidisciplinary care is indicated to optimize clinical outcomes
- Apply evidence-based recommendations for trauma prevention in clinical practice
