The Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM) is a large-scale dental clinic that is held annually in a Colorado community. With 125 portable dental chairs, dental services are provided to adults, elderly, and children, who cannot afford dental care. An outpouring of nearly 200 volunteer dentists from across the state – along with hundreds of dental hygienists, assistants, lab technicians, and a myriad of lay volunteers and other health professionals – work in tandem with community groups and agencies to better the oral health of individuals who come to the clinic.
Freedom Day USA is America’s largest military thank you event! Each year businesses say “Thank You” by providing free services or special offers to active military and their immediate family and to veterans who visit their business on event day. Click HERE for more information about Freedom Day.
Global Dental Relief (GDR) was founded in 2001 by former Director of Colorado State Parks, Laurie Mathews, and dentist Andrew Holecek. Laurie and Andrew spent a year in Nepal and were deeply moved by the desperate need for dental care, particularly for children.
Today, Global Dental Relief has grown from 27 volunteers in 2002 to 380 dedicated volunteers joining us annually — dentists, hygienists and general volunteers. Global Dental Relief volunteers now serve 22,000 children each year with $4.5 million in donated dental care. Learn more.
