Attendees will walk through every step of the buying journey, from financial preparation and due diligence to structuring the deal and planning a smooth transition.
Objectives
- Assess personal and financial readiness for practice ownership, including clinical scope, credit, budget and advisory team setup.
- Analyze market factors such as demographics, payer mix, referral networks and competition to determine ideal locations.
- Evaluate practice profiles, financials, and operational systems to identify strengths, risks and opportunities.
- Conduct thorough due diligence across financial, clinical, operational and legal areas.
- Understand how practice value is determined and identify red flags that may impact valuation.
- Compare deal structures, including conventional purchases and associate buy-ins/buy-outs and understand timelines.
- Develop a transition plan covering staff communication, patient retention, credentialing and operational handoff.
Ms. Marie Chatterley is a dental broker for CTC Associates. She has been assisting dentists since 2003 with practice transitions, team building, marketing and practice management. She is the former President of the National Association of Practice Brokers, a member of the Dental Practice Valuation Study Club and a member of the International Business Brokers Association.
