Inaugural Dash for Detection 5K: Oral Cancer Awareness 5K
We are excited to introduce the first-ever Dash for Detection 5K, a community event hosted by the Academy of General Dentistry Foundation and Colorado Academy of General Dentistry with support from University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine (CUSDM) students. This event will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Denver’s City Park, and we invite you to be part of this important initiative.
This 5K is more than just a race—it’s a movement to raise awareness about oral cancer, educate the public on early detection, and support those facing financial barriers to diagnosis and treatment.
Event Highlights:
- A Continuing Education Course on Oral Cancer – Presented by renowned expert Dr. Catherine Flaitz.
- Free Health Screenings – A dedicated tent will offer educational exams, with referral options for individuals needing further evaluation.
- Fundraising for a Critical Cause – All proceeds will support a new CUSDM initiative that provides financial assistance for diagnosing oral pathologies.
- Free T-shirt for the first 100 people to sign up!
