Did you know research has shown Emotional Intelligence is a far better predictor of success than IQ? Organizations with high emotional intelligence (EI) enable their people to perform to their full potential, and it is a powerful element of effective leadership. In this 90-minute course, we will explore the value of emotional intelligence and how it defines successful leaders today. The old mantra of command-and-control leadership is extinct and does not work for the long-term success of today’s dental practice and businesses. There are critical elements of emotional intelligence that every modern leader needs to recognize, develop and implement. After attending this course, the participant will be able to:
- Recognize the five elements of emotional intelligence and discover ways of working with EI that lead to better outcomes with your team members
- List tangible next steps to connect with your team in new productive ways on Monday
- Describe your own personal areas of strength and opportunity
- Define best practices in handling different behavioral styles of patients and dental team members
Lead by Brad Guyton DDS, MBA, MPH, who serves as Chief Dental Officer for Delta Dental of Colorado and Delta Dental of Virginia. Dr. Guyton is a Fellow in the ACD, and a member of the ADA, CDA, VDA, and AGD.
Brett Levin, DMD received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. T Dr. Brett is one of a select few clinical instructors at the prestigious Kois Center. He served on the board of the Metro Denver Dental Society (twice) and has been awarded 5280 Magazine Top Dentist every year since 2008.

Cancellations will be accepted and are entitled to a refund provided they are received at MDDS by the cancellation deadline. Refunds will not be given for cancellations after the cancellation deadline.
MWDI Parking Information
For your convenience, we have free parking in two retail garages within the Beauvallon building (east-facing side). Both garages are accessed from Lincoln Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. Parking in these garages is available on a first-come, first-served basis. **If you are attending a large course/event at the MWDI, we recommend arriving early in case the garages fill and alternative parking must be secured. Be aware – the garages come up quickly after you cross 9th Avenue and both have left lane entrances. All numbered spaces within both retail parking garages (without “Reserved” signs) are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Do not park in any spaces with a red sign that says “Matrix” or “KCNC.” Do not park in the residential parking. Residential garages are at the back of the retail garages. The north and south garages are not connected. Both have open parking available.
